Closing Day!

On Wednesday, March 31st, 2010 we closed on our very first house! We're home owners now! We love our new house--even if it takes us months to get everything out of boxes!

A huge thanks to my mom, who stayed with us for 3 days and cleaned, boxed, and moved us across town! We couldn't have done it without you and we're so blessed to have someone so giving of their time! Thank you so much!!

Also, thanks to our wonderful friends Casey Gilvin and Lindsay Holzwarth (soon to be Gilvin!) who happened to be in town making wedding plans and were willing to take 4 long hours and help us move the heavy stuff ! Couldn't ask for better friends! You guys are amazing!

We'll be getting change of address cards out asap- come and visit us and see our new home!

Freshman

I've heard that when a small child falls down and cries, a bandaid can help. Even if the child isn't bleeding- stick a bandaid on and all is well. Funny thing: I get asked about 10 times a day for a bandaid by high school freshman. It is usually the same kids sticking a finger in my face to show me that they are not bleeding and have no visible hangnails or papercuts. I, of course, am not a nurse and I don't keep bandaids, nor could I keep them if anyone found out I had a box. Also, in case you were wondering, the new cool way to hurt your friends is to flick them in the neck. Right on the Adam's apple if you can- if you have a rubber band, it's the best. Proposal

This year was our fifth Valentines day together. I have never made John celebrate because I don't really care, but this year we had a romantic dinner. John made a fire in the fire place and I cooked dinner. Valentines Day fell on a Thursday which meant John had just finished some prints in his photo-lab. (John has a new hobby-photography. He is taking a photography class where you take and develop pictures and learn about perspective and art etc. ) After dinner, John handed me a stack of photos to sort through so he could show me what he has learned. I looked through a few and everything looked great until I saw a picture of John playing Scrabble. I laughed because it obviously didn't fit in with the rest, but I finally understood when I saw the next picture. It was a picture of his Scrabble board with the words "Jamie will you marry me".
