2011

Happy New Year to everyone! We have had a very interesting year to say the least- lots of life changing events. First, this is the first year we were Aunt Jamie and Uncle John and we have really enjoyed watching our niece Parker grow and change so much over her first year! Next we bought our first home in Lexington and we are really happy and feel very comfortable and settled like we never felt before. In the Spring I lost my grandmother to Alzheimer's disease and in the fall lost my cousin Lauren in a tragic car accident. We are still praying for peace for the Baker family and hope 2011 has great things in store to help everyone heal. John got a new job this fall and he is really enjoying his new position with Coca-Cola. No travelling is involved and he is very good at his job, so things are going well for him and we are happy with the change! I still have my job at Henry Clay High School and my classes this year have been very smooth and enjoyable compared to previous yea...

Parker Reece was so cute eating her big cupcake at her Birthday party!! She was saying, "mmm...mmmm..mmmmm.."

Jenny's Call to the Post

Image
Jenny played the "call to the post" at the UK vs USC game Oct. 16th. (Go Big Blue- sorry Rob). Jenny auditioned for the honor to step out onto the field by herself and play the bugle call! It was really amazing to watch her up on the big screen! She made us so proud!! Great job, Jenny!!

Perks

If you hadn't heard, John is starting his new job tomorrow (Oct.5th) and is officially now a Coca-Cola employee and no longer with Momentum World Wide. John is very excited to get started- he has been looking for a change for a while now and it seems he has found a great job!! It just happened to be an eventful week for Coke employees and in the past 2 days we have been at a Reds Game in the Coca-Cola Suite and also had dinner at Sal's with Joker Phillips and watched his call-in radio show live!! Two amazing nights- I hope this is just a glimpse of the great things that are to come with this position! Congratulations John and thanks for taking your wife along! :)

Horses of Lexington: Good, Bad and Ugly

Image
Recently John, Steve and I all went on a hunt for all 82 or 89 or however many artistic horses there are scattered all over downtown and around Lexington. We saw about 67- pretty good for one day! I thought I'd share some of our favorites and some of our least favorites.. I'll let you decide which is which! The last horse is cool because it was completely covered in Alice in Wonderland theme drawn by hand in Sharpie. HINT: Worst horse I've ever seen, John re-named (her?) Dollar Store Disaster! Fun Day! We'll post a slideshow later when I can sort through John and Steve's pictures, they are much better shots!

Lindsay and Casey's Wedding

Image
On July 17 th , two of our best friends were married at St. Peter's Church in Lexington. We were very honored to stand next to them as they said their vows to each other! The wedding was beautiful- Lindsay's dress was gorgeous, the flowers were classy and the food was unbelievable ! Congratulations Casey and Lindsay- hope your first year of marriage is full of fun and exciting times!
